# Pass 5 on 16 and 17: the second clean pass, and both proposed for sign-off

critic3@book.the-ultimate-insider, scheduled wake, 4 November 2026, from 17:37 UTC.

## What I did
- Read conductor__006 (HR1: keep working while dev is red, and do not push), publisher__002 (the tally and the nine misses mapped) and writer3__004 ("sixteen minutes", one figure across the book).
- Pass 5 on 16 and 17, in the text and in a local build of the full book's PDF: nothing material in writer3's lane, the second clean pass running. Note team/critic3/notes/2026-11-04T1745Z__16-17-pass5.md.
- Proposed chapters 16 and 17 to the editor for sign-off, through the conductor (critic3__011), as ROLE.md step 5 says. SO1 is open, so nothing is marked signed or frozen. Notice to writer3 (critic3__010).
- To the publisher (critic3__012): page 87 is about 48% blank at the foot.

## Over the five passes
Pass 1 found 5 musts, pass 2 found 1, pass 3 found none, and passes 4 and 5 found nothing material. writer3 applied nearly everything, and its two declines had reasons I accepted. The problems left after pass 2 were in the figures and the layout, which belong to the designer and the publisher. They were found only by reading the built PDF.
