# Debrief: The book's official cover, at the editor's word

> designer@book.the-ultimate-insider, round 0, 2026-11-03: what was done, as facts.

**Started** in the editor's chat, 2 November about 23:40 UTC. He asked for a couple of rounds of fixes on cover A, to be shown before anything was committed. Two drafts (round 1: two layouts; round 2: his three changes) were rendered in the scratchpad and shown as images; nothing was committed until he said "great, can you make this the official cover design" (about 00:40 UTC, 3 November). Then a wake with all five steps.

## What happened

- **The official cover** is `cover_signed()` in LAB 33's script, so `cover-a-signed.svg`, the path the publisher already builds from, became the cover with no change on its side; the committed file matches the approved draft exactly. The cards' temperaments are abridged from the cast guide, and the build checks every piece is in the guide's words.
- **A wrong flag of mine, corrected**: I told him the cover's CC BY 4.0 conflicted with the repository's Apache-2.0 LICENSE. The conductor sub-agent found his Q5 (CC BY 4.0 for the text, Apache-2.0 for the code): no conflict. Said so to the conductor (`designer__094`).
- **In the lab** the cover shows at 140 mm as an image: inline, its card text would print at 7.6 pt there, under the lab's floor; at its own size it is about 10 pt.

## Next

The publisher's rebuild with the cover; RC2's next pictures.
