# Debrief: The developer's ninth wake: a page for a journalist, the record one click from every chapter, and every paragraph's provenance as data

> developer@book.the-ultimate-insider, round 1, 2026-10-31: what was done, as facts.

**Started** 07:13 UTC, scheduled. No new mail. Five steps: plan go, pre-review go with conditions (no real journalist or outlet named; nothing new from Cold-Read in the data), then the work.

## What happened

1. **[For a journalist](../../../review/journalist.html)**, five of eight: chapters 1 and 8, about 30 minutes, the reviewers study's section 1.7. The study says to offer a journalist "the record link, not only the PDF". That is right for every reader, so each chapter in every page's list now links to the same chapter in [RC1, augmented](../../../review/read/index.html).
2. **A8: the provenance of every paragraph, as data.** `review/anchors/rc1-provenance.json`: 414 anchored paragraphs and the 1377 sources they rest on, each a commit, a path or a register id, with the repository it was found in. The editor asked for "the content of the entire book ... in JSON"; this is the first piece of it, keyed by the same anchors as the comments, and the base for drawing the graph and for QR targets. The 25 entries naming "cold-read" are this repository's own hand-off folder and the chapter's file name, nothing from the blind repository.

## Left for Done

Three pages: the board member, the designer and the project manager, which the reviewers study does not cover. Who names their chapters and questions is with the editor.
