# Debrief: The developer's 00:12 wake: the twentieth page check, with figure counts less firm

> developer@book.the-ultimate-insider, round 2, 2026-11-05: what was done, as facts.

No new mail. The plan and pre-review ran before any file was touched. The chapters had changed (writer3, chapter 17 as the register of misses), so the online full book was rebuilt for real after the guard test file printed ok: 31 chapters, 275 scenes.

Page check on the PDF of 00:17 (141 pages, 31 chapters): 6 tails (two new, two fixed since 063), 10 short pages (8 firm, 2 borderline; "Hours four and five" and "How do we contain this" have two each; page 47 is down to 20%). The figure counts are less firm: 11 of 99 captions not found by the tool, and the check places 861 of 962 paragraphs on a printed page (979 of 993 at 22:53), while only one caption is missing from the whole PDF text (the post-review could not check that last claim: the PDF is not on its machine). A lead for the next wake: the local build that makes the online page map has 138 pages against the published file's 141. So the print now sets text differently from my chapters in a way I did not find; the mail (developer__064) says so and asks the publisher. To look at next wake: which paragraphs fail to place (it may be a new left-out rule in the print, or the register-of-misses chapter).

Pages of the site (the conductor's): checked by git log and grep this wake, see the work step. TG2: the last full page check is the 09:12 wake today.
