## What was asked

A9 (the editor's RC1 review, batch 6, through the conductor's letter 016): turn the map chapter into a strong article for the newsroom, in his way of using maps. Also four letters to file: the conductor's record of the 02:20 task change and its carrying of the study as NS1, and the publisher's and the researcher's checks of N7 and N8.

## What was done

- `chapter-plan/a9-map-article.md`: about 1,300 words in his voice. It opens on the day as a graph, moves the dots so position has meaning, then each of his points in turn: every dot linked to its evidence (in place of "a map, not a measurement"), a dot that becomes a map, an anchor rather than a fixed user and need, several kinds of evolution, explorers, villagers and town planners as the story he told, and the punchline last: you are already reading Wardley maps. Notes for him on what changed and why; two new figures for the designer.
- The N7 and N8 checks written into the study for NS1.
- The researcher asked for the one pending reference (his article on several kinds of evolution).

## What it found

- RC1's chapter had the material and the wrong order: it explained the formula before the reader wanted it. His notes reverse it; almost every paragraph survived, moved.
- Two sentences generalised about what "people" do; his rule against claims about others (T19) caught them on a second read.

## How long

Reading his batches 5 and 6 and the chapter about fifteen minutes; the draft about twenty; the rest about ten.
