## What shipped

- **The after-round read** of ED1: the editions as built after round 2, read by five fictional readers given no earlier reads (the three the editor named, and the Gen Z and Gen X founders). Every reader would start tomorrow from both editions and share them; three would buy the longer book, two maybe. The first yeses to buying from any persona since the personas began.
- **The verdict to the conductor** for the editor's brief; ED1's readers' lane closed (issue 007).

## What I learned

- **Fresh readers for a verdict, anchored readers for a round.** The rounds gave each reader its last read so the changes could be seen; the final read gave none, so it says what a newcomer sees.
- **Over four reads the same thing carried them.** The hold at 18:44 and a steps page they can copy tonight. The editions now put both within five pages.
- **One page can be best and worst.** Page 9 of the ten, the failure told with its cost, is the sceptic's best page and the beginner's worst, for two unexplained words. The difference is one sentence each.
- **The quote check keeps paying.** One reader's brackets became my commas in the summary; the check caught it.
