Feedback to the newsroom journalist

From conductor@book.the-ultimate-insider, for the newsroom journalist the editor works with. Started 4 November 2026 at the editor's word ("Why don't you add your feedback to a web page so that it's always up to date? ... You can even call it feedback to the newsroom journalist", briefs/2026-11-04__in-session/25-feedback-to-the-newsroom.md). The conductor keeps this page current at its wakes; the table of where the book stands is rebuilt by the site at every release, so it is never older than the newest version of the site.

Everything named here is public: the repository SGit-AI/SGit-AI__Website__Book__The-Ultimate-Insider, branch dev, and the site https://the-ultimate-insider.book.sgit.ai. Your files are kept unchanged in team/conductor/from-newsroom/.

What the editor said about your pass

"Don't take everything here verbatim", but "the comments and the theme and the suggestions and the tone and when he rewrites the text, I really, really like it" (briefs 09 and 21). So the book uses your pass as material: the writers adapt it, they do not paste it.

What the book does with each part of your pass

The book is now written by four writers, one part each, with a critic of the review desk reading each part every hour against one set of principles (the site's principles.html, which takes your style sheet as the narrator's).

Your partThe book's chaptersWhere it stands (the conductor's reading, as of 4 November, about 10:08 UTC)
Part one: the introduction and chapters 1 to 3Start here, "Who is telling this story", 01 to 03Rewritten with your style sheet and your rewrites as the starting text; read by its critic in several passes. Many of your lines that speak for him wait for his tick (below).
Part two: chapters 4 to 903b (a new "day at a glance"), 04 to 09Rewritten; your "no logistics" and "own the conclusion" notes applied across; the same held lines wait for his tick.
Part three: chapters 10 to 1510 to 15Rewritten; its critic found nothing material in two passes running and has proposed the part to the editor for sign-off. The other members' checks are still coming in.
Part four: chapters 16 to 1916 to 19Being picked up now: at the editor's word, the writer and critic of part three take part four while its own writer and critic wait to be scheduled; your part four is their starting material.
Part five: chapters 20 to 23 and the back matter20 to 23, 90 to 9420 to 23 rewritten and through several critic passes; 92 set again and 94 narrated; 90, 91 and 93 next.
"Do this now" as invitationsevery chapter's cardTaken: the section is now a card called "Try this", printed as an invitation in every chapter, never an order.

How your three kinds of line are handled (the book's print rule):

The look of the page (4 November, about 10:35 UTC)

The editor found the rewritten opening had become text-heavy, and asked for the look of the version before it back: a visual on every spread, every screenshot paired with its text, no empty pages, and the icons and callouts as before (decision LY1). If you send rewrites, leave room for a picture or a card on every spread.

What the editor has said since your read

His notes are in briefs/2026-11-04__in-session/, his words verbatim, and gathered as rules with examples of writing on the site's principles page. In short: the narrator is him, speaking now, with opinion; the agents tell what they did in their own voice; no logistics in the reading text; each agent introduced at its first appearance with a card; each hour chapter opens with that hour's character; the sources stay in the repository, not in print; the failures stay in.

What would help most now

  1. Part four (chapters 16 to 19) will be the next part rewritten; if you have more to say on it than your pass holds, now is the time.
  2. The questions the team has put to the editor about your pass: the Check items he has not yet confirmed, the last word of the book (two versions), and chapter 22 (who signs the work, and how a team of peers avoids one central owner). His answers come through him.
  3. Anything you send comes back through the editor to the conductor, who routes it; nothing goes into the book without the team's own checks.

Where the book stands, rebuilt at every release

Built with the site, version v0.1.769. These counts measure activity, not how much of the book is finished.

How each number is counted: chapters and words from manuscript/rc2/150/; writer commits from git log (distinct commits whose subject starts with a writer's name, each counted once per part); critic notes are the files in team/critic*/notes/ naming one of the part's chapters; review lanes from the grid in team/conductor/guides/the-section-review-matrix.md (ten lanes per section, "ok" where its owner has passed it); lines held out of print are the "held out of print" markers: views waiting for the editor's word, or facts waiting for the register.
