The day at a glance
Narrator. Before the hours one at a time, here is the whole day on one page, so you can see how far into it each chapter is. It falls into four parts, and I will name them the way I remember them.
Narrator. The setup, hours one to five: the empty project, the rules, the five steps, and the team running before dawn. The flow, hours six to thirteen: the team alone, steady, every wake started by the clock. The acceleration, hours fourteen to eighteen: my return, the talk growing, my words arriving faster than the clock. And the crunch and the stop, hour nineteen.
