For publishers
Interested in publishing this book? Talk to us.
The Ultimate Insider is self-published first, on Leanpub from Monday 2 November 2026 and then on Amazon. We are looking for a publisher from day one: not to replace one, but to bring one a book that is already finished, already finding its readers, and ready for the publishing workflow.
In the editor's words
"My objective with this publishing this book is not to get rid of publishers ... I'm creating a better brief, right? I'm basically de-risking this for the publisher, if you think about it, because what I'm doing is I'm basically having a finished product, so they already know what it looks like. I'm preceding the audience, already finding market validation, right? And then I am already getting everything ready for the publishing. So I'm dramatically reducing the costs of it so they can focus on what they're very good at."
"The publishers add a lot of value ... the publishers also have a level of distribution that I don't have."
Dinis Cruz, the editor, 30 October 2026 (spoken, lightly trimmed).
What there is today
- A finished first version. RC1: 294 pages at 6 x 9 in, about 72,000 words, with Wardley maps, infographics and call-outs, revised in place from the editor's notes and the team's reviews.
- The record behind every claim. The book is made in public, from a timestamped git record, with every number traced through a register.
- The research. The market on Leanpub, and what the best books there do.
- The plan. Leanpub and Amazon first, readers and reviews next; the plan and the editor's decisions are public.
How to start the conversation
Open an issue in the book's repository with "Publishing" in the title, and the editor will reply. Everything in the repository is public, so leave out anything you would rather say privately and ask for a private channel instead.
This page is new and the editor has not yet checked it; its words may change.
