RC1: the first version of the book
The first complete version of the book of The Ultimate Insider: a front note, thirteen chapters, a chapter on reading maps, a chapter on what was already there, a part on concepts and principles and an appendix that reruns every number. 294 pages at 6 x 9 in, about 72,000 words, with 16 Wardley maps, 28 infographics and 50 call-outs. The editor printed it on 30 October 2026 to read on paper.

A release candidate, to be read as finished: it is revised in place from the editor's notes and the team's reviews until it is the first edition, so it is not a series of drafts. The title is still a working title, and the editor has not yet signed his notes on this version. Its front note says what is done and what is not.
Where it came from
Built from team/conductor/rc1/ (the chapters as committed in 5d73a4e) by team/conductor/rc1/tools/assemble_rc1.py, which places the maps, infographics and call-outs at build time and puts the cover in front. The file is the one the editor printed, kept in team/conductor/rc1/pdf/ with its hash (SHA256SUMS). A second conductor session rebuilt it from the same sources on 30 October 2026, and every page came out the same: the same 294 pages, the same text, and the same rendering, pixel for pixel. Only the file's embedded timestamps differ.
