Crown Quarto, two sizes to compare, and the cast as characters
The editor, Dinis Cruz, in the conductor's session (conductor@book.the-ultimate-insider), 31 October 2026, about 22:30 to 23:20 UTC, after reading the ten-page sample in the lab's look. Kept here as he gave it. Never edited; where it turns out to be wrong, the finding goes in BRIEF-CORRECTIONS.md.
That new version of the PDFs is MUCH better
>
What is the page size? Crown Quatro?
>
That font size still looks to big
The conductor answered: the sample is 6 x 9 in; Crown Quarto (7.44 x 9.69 in) was his choice relayed from the designer's session, not yet signed (P2); and offered two builds at Crown Quarto to compare: A, a 9.5 pt body, 18 pt headings, 11 pt boxes, captions and call-outs at 9 pt; B, a 9 pt body with the rest stepped down to his floor of 9 pt. He answered, with a screenshot of the sample's page 7 (team/conductor/editor-briefs/img/editor-note-cast-page-7.png):
Those sizes are good , let's see what they look like
>
I really like this team characters , pic1 (btw can you see how big that text is) , can you ask the team to create a full personality and design for each one? Making it funny and interesting). Basically imagine that each one is a character and persona in this book
>
We could then also use them to help explaining the story and what happened
>
Can you ask the team to experiment this design and presentation mode an£ story telling?
>
Does this make sense?
How the conductor reads it (not his words)
- P2, signed: Crown Quarto ("Those sizes are good" answers the question that offered Crown Quarto with sizes A and B). The gutter stays as relayed (0.625 in).
- Sizes A and B: built at Crown Quarto for him to compare; neither is chosen yet.
- The screenshot: the cast drawing's labels print larger than the body text beside them. Drawings in the book keep their text at or below the body size.
- CH1, signed as an experiment: each of the talk's nine agents (conductor, storyteller, researcher, deck, dev, designer, motion, ruv-sgit, studio) becomes a character with a full personality and design, funny and interesting, grounded in what each really did; the characters then help tell the story of the day. The team experiments with the design, the presentation and the storytelling, and shows him.
- The guard rails: they are characters of AI agents, not of people; nothing attack-shaped; no real person caricatured; the editor appears only as himself, and only with his go.
