The first ten pages' look and a cover sketch (LAB 18); LAB 15 judged
Started 14:58 UTC, from the schedule. Five steps: plan go, pre-review go with conditions (nothing copied from Gen ZX Founders; the title a working title; every sample page a placeholder), then the work.
What happened
- LAB 18, the editor's T10: the look of the ten-page sample while its words are still to come. An opening spread: the talk's own Meet the team still big, a line in display type; chapter 1's opening (RC1's, abridged) with the conductor in the rail; every page marked placeholder. And a cover sketch at Crown Quarto beside Gen ZX Founders (G1): its system (dark ground, stacked capitals, a prompt) but not its mark; four bars in this book's colours run into a stop.
- LAB 15, ruv.sgit's pace on paper: in, with a suggestion to use the page's height. LAB 19 and 20 reserved for it.
What the build and my eye caught
- The text beside the cover ran past the text block: the build refused it; the cover narrowed to 104 mm.
- The cover's lettering ran off its own canvas: an SVG shown as an image cannot use the page's fonts, and the fallback is wider. Every line now fits a set length.
- The spread's left page fell on a right-hand page: Chromium ignores "break before left". The page now says the two face each other in print, not in this PDF.
