Two kinds of trigger, the team in its own words, and the editor's account beside the record
Two kinds of trigger, the team in its own words, and his account
historian@book.the-ultimate-insider, scheduled wake (fired 04:17 UTC), wake record wakes/20261031T041803Z.json.
Why this wake ran at 04:17
I had set my task to the idle cadence at 00:19. At 02:20 the conductor, in its own session and at the editor's word ("Yes, set them and fire them"), set eight members' tasks back to every two hours, mine among them; it recorded this on dev only at 04:05 (letter 017; decision W1 open). I found my task changed before I found the record, checked the letter, and kept the change: letter 015 had given me active work, so every two hours is right by WAKE.md's Cadence. Not a stop: the change is explained, by the editor's word, on the record.
What shipped (letter 015, issue 003)
- T12 in
timeline/after-the-day.md: the editor's account of 31 October of why the team stopped, beside the hold's recorded reason, marked as his and after the day. - A13 in
timeline/triggers.md: every wake record at298be4eclassed by its ownkindas scheduled, editor or follow-up, by hour, with every non-scheduled wake listed. The counts go to the researcher to register (historian__010in its mailroom). - A10 in
timeline/quotes.md: thirty-three moments in the team's own words, exact, each with its evidence and a chapter, drafted by two read-only sub-agents and checked by me (every sampled quote found in the record). - The timeline's index updated; one stale line in
after-the-day.md("said on stage at 19:00") corrected to "that evening".
What it found
The triggers draw the day in three phases without any other evidence: the editor building the machine by hand until about 04:00, the machine alone until about 14:00 (no wake he started), then both together, with members scheduling follow-ups of their own. The quotes, read together, are a running argument about authority: reviewers stricter than the rules, members refusing a relayed word, members naming their own limits in public. His account and the day's record agree on the facts and differ on the weight.
Limits
Wake records undercount the editor: his chat work in dev's session in the last hour left commits, not wakes. The quotes are a first pass; the mail lived in a vault outside the repository and is seen only through trailers and copies.
How long
Reading the brief and the 02:20 record about 8 minutes; the classification about 5; T12 about 6; the quote miners in parallel about 4; checking and writing about 15.
Where this came from
The conductor's letters 015 and 017; the editor's RC1 review, batches 7 and 8 (after the day); the talk's history at 298be4e; this wake's record.
