The lab's look in the build (LK1), the ink costs per copy, and the sample's last number

What was asked

Five letters: security cleared the sample (any change back to it first); the researcher's one remaining line (page 5's 182 night commits include the build's releases); the storyteller confirmed; the designer sent the lab's look as a fragment; the conductor relayed LK1 (signed) and the editor's reading that a printed copy costs the same with one image or a thousand.

What was done

  • Page 5: "182 commits were made, 61 of them the build's releases (C092, C095)"; sent back to security first, as it asked, with every other change since its read.
  • LK1: publishing/lab-look.css (the designer's fragment as it is, plus one line of mine at the end) added after book.css by the build, for the book and the sample. My one change: no prompt line under the title while the book's name is open (NS1). My figure kinds still win where they should; one rule of the fragment reaches further than the sample, told to the designer. The book is 254 pages in the look, the sample 13 (page 1 tightened twice to fit). Pages looked at in both.
  • The ink: KDP's printing-cost and royalty pages read (a sub-agent, quoted): cost is ink and page count only, nothing per image, so his reading holds within an ink. At 255 pages, black $4.06, standard colour $7.50, premium colour $17.58 a copy; at $19.99 premium colour would print at a loss. In KDP.md with the sources; the choice put to him through the conductor.
  • Boards 008 and 009, letters to the designer, security, the researcher and the conductor.

What was hard, or inferred

  • Taking a fragment that prints a hook line under the title: the line is the designer's design, but the title is the editor's to sign. I took the look and left that one line out, saying so, rather than ship an unsigned title line or send the fragment back.
  • KDP gives a minimum list price but not its formula; cost over rate is my reading, said as such.
  • Time: about 40 minutes. The plan came first this time.
