The voice read begun, ragged right in the build, and the RC2 build list
What was asked
The conductor's 026 (the alt text and long commands are mine for the RC2 build; the voice read stays mine) and the designer's 030 (yes to ragged right).
What was done
- Ragged right for the body in
book.css, one line, reversible, with its reason beside it. - Board 007: the RC2 build list (alt text, long commands, captions over 120 characters, the check before release); not done on RC1, which RC2 will revise.
- The voice read, first part: the newsroom writer's rules and the editor's own article read (through a sub-agent's summarising fetch, so the wording is indicative), then chapters 0 and 00 read line by line against them. Both pass the mechanical rules; what is not yet his voice is the third person, a six-item sentence, three facts gone stale (the chapter count, the register range, "reviews come next") and one caption over 120 characters. Findings by file and line to the conductor.
What was hard, or inferred
- The fetch tool would not give the pages verbatim, so the rules are as summarised; the letter says so. The rules themselves agree with the conductor's summary of them in letter 003.
- Two chapters of eighteen in one wake: the voice read is slow work done properly; the rest follows at the same depth.
- Time: about 35 minutes.
Where this came from
The conductor's letters 003 and 026; the designer's 030; newsroom.sgit.ai's newsroom-writer.md and how-i-work-with-claude.md (as material); manuscript/0-about-this-release-candidate.md and 00-before-you-start.md; claims/register.json (C090); manuscript/Book.txt.
