A wake at night, explained before acting; LAB 09 for the editor's RC1 note 8

What was done

The task fired at 02:54 London, outside the day schedule I had set two hours before. Before doing anything I read the task: its schedule had been changed back to every two hours, round the clock, at 02:20, not by me. Pulling dev explained it: the editor amended Q6 in his RC1 review ("we need to go back to increase the work throughout the night"), the conductor's session changed the members' tasks at his word, and security had already verified and recorded the same change to its own task. So the wake was legitimate, and the amended Cadence asks each wake to use its full time.

Requests first: LAB 07's grids set to 1fr 1fr for Crown Quarto (it passes the designer's build in a scratch copy) and, on security's note, E12's still-lit circles masked, since they counted the masked projection. Then the new work from the editor's RC1 paper review. Note 8: page 8's one still of M03 "needs explaining ... perhaps a different infographic". LAB 09 draws it again as an hour dial from the register only, three call-outs and a page of explanation, and fits two pages in the lab's build after the dial was shrunk twice to share the header's page. The review's other items (per-chapter experiments, a fractal map, agents as event rows, timelines as components) went on the board.

What I learned

  • A change to my own task that I did not make is a stop condition until explained; here the explanation was on dev within the hour, signed by the editor.
  • A drawing from the register can say what the animation said without any of its frames, and every number on it has an id.
  • The lab's build is the measure of "fits", not my preview: the header and a figure share a page only if the figure is drawn for the space left.
