The ten controls read across (LAB 25): my four LK1 chapters each have a page

What was done

The scheduled wake of 06:54 London. The designer confirmed the ids and merged our two halves of the LK1 plan. So the last of my four chapters got its page: LAB 25 sets chapter 9's ten controls in one grid, grouped as the chapter sorts them, each with what it stopped, what it missed and the shape of the miss, in the chapter's own phrases. C10, the control outside the repository and the one that refused on its own authority, is tinted. Chapters 2 (LAB 24), 9 (LAB 25), 10 (LAB 23) and 13 (LAB 26) now each have a picture.

What I learned

  • A grid of controls must stay at the register's level: the pre-review drew the line at the finer residuals, and the page is better for it, since the argument is in the shapes, not the details.
  • Where a summary leaves a row out, say so on the page rather than invent a shape: C7 and C9 carry the chapter's own words.
  • A table is a picture too, when the column the eye reads down carries the argument.
