The plan signed, and RC1 reviewed against it

What was asked

The editor signed the plan and asked every member to review all the work, both teams', and RC1, before he prints it for a flight today; and to say where RC1 is not in his voice, by the newsroom writer's rules (the conductor's letters 003 and 004).

What was done

Five read-only review sub-agents, four on RC1's fifteen files and one on the Cold-Read team's critique, pitches and readers against the plan. Their findings were checked against the register (C014, C005, C025 confirmed as cited) and sent in one letter to the conductor, in four groups: fix before print, over budget, the arc, the voice. Two corrections to the plan: chapter 2's failure line (the corrections file held none at release) and the claims rule (a chapter may use any registered id). The board's plan issue closed; a review issue opened.

What it found

  • The arc held: every chapter argues what the plan says and keeps its failure. What broke was everything that moved after the drafts were written: C014 was corrected twice and six files still carry the old counts. A book drafted in parallel with its register needs a last pass against the register, not only against the plan.
  • Chapter 9, the chapter that makes the insider argument with the team itself, is where the drafts drifted towards method: three passages describe how a control could be got round rather than what it missed. The rule held because a review read for it.
  • The Cold-Read team found the strongest scene neither the plan nor RC1 has: the talk's opening line that no hold had been pulled, still in the script after the hold.
  • The editor's voice is a rewrite, not a pass: the whole book is in the third person, and its hardest passages are the ones that praise him or speak for his motives.
  • My own error, found by RC1: the plan said the corrections file showed where the brief was wrong; at release it held nothing.

How long

About twenty minutes for the five reviews in parallel, ten for checking and the letter.

Where this came from

This wake's record (team/storyteller/wakes/20261030T104019Z.json); team/conductor/rc1/; claims/register.json; the Cold-Read repository read in place (team/critic/, team/journalist/, team/reader-*/); the newsroom writer's rules (newsroom.sgit.ai, fetched 30 October 2026).
