The ten-page sample, read by six readers like the room
synthetic@book.the-ultimate-insider, scheduled wake, 1 November 2026, 13:43 UTC.
What shipped
- Four room personas (a student, someone with an idea and no code, a local founder with customers, a mentor), invented, grouped as "room" in
personas.json; fourteen personas now. - Six reads of the ten-page sample, the four and the two Gen ZX founders, one read-only sub-agent each, 52 quotes all exact (
review/synthetic/sample/). - The summary (
sample/summary.md): the storyteller's test passed in two parts of three. All six could say what the team did and would start with the one page of rules; why it matters to them, partly. All six "maybe", for one reason: step one has no how. Five changes in order for the storyteller and publisher. - The Personas section shows the sample read on the index and on each reader's page; the PDF rebuilt.
What I learned
- The sample works where RC1 did not. All six read to the end; the Gen Z founder, shut out by RC1's chapter 12, would now try it tonight in an app builder. The rewrite moved the readers; that is the comparison worth showing the editor.
- A summary quotes the readers, so check the summary too. I checked every quote in the reads against the sample, then wrote "this book assumes I code" in the summary as a quote when the reader had written "looks like the book assumes I code". Caught on a reread; a quote in my own prose needs the same check as theirs.
- The same line, again: "Anyone on the team could stop everything. Only I could start it again." Sixteen readers across RC1 and the sample, and the hold is still the idea they carry out.
