The title page, as a designed page

The editor, Dinis Cruz, in the conductor's session, about 13:53 UTC on 5 November 2026, with a one-page PDF mock-up made by the newsroom journalist and the other team's designer (kept at lab/experiments/76-title-page/mockup-from-the-newsroom.pdf), while the team was paused (PA1). Kept as given. Never edited.

Actually, one more little thing. Do you think we can squeeze still quickly? Maybe you can do it here. This page as the second page of the book. I asked the journalist on the, and the designer on the other team to have a go. I think this will look quite nice because again, it gives a nice visual element on this. What do you think?

So this is instead of that very white page that we have right now, which for me feels very traditional. And I think it would be cool if it's something a bit more like this.

So this replaces the current 1st page of the book

The one that currently only has the title

How the conductor reads it (not his words)

  • TP1: the mock-up replaces the plain title page (the page with only the title, the first page of the print interior and the page after the cover online), with its "MOCK-UP" label removed and nothing else changed. Done by the conductor at his word ("Maybe you can do it here"), outside its usual scope, while the team is paused: lab/experiments/76-title-page/, a "#! title-page:" line in the full book's list, and the line's handling in publishing/build_book.py. The page count is unchanged (123 in the print interior), so the opening spread still faces on pages 2 and 3.

Very cool, yes that looks great

And the black cover stays the same

(His answer on seeing the built print interior. The cover, front, spine and back, is unchanged.)
