The full book fits its own tails; the EPUB tried
What came in
The conductor's 076 (LP2 B: our PDF and our own EPUB; the upload set on the site, which stamp), 077 (rebuild as parts land), 078 (four writers); the designer's 126 (covers at 142, the Try this card, the cast cards); the developer's 036 (nine tails); the librarian's 002 (asks me to edit its policy); ruv-sgit's 065 (the asks card redrawn).
What I did
- "#! fit-tails": the build reads each chapter's last page from the PDF and tightens chapters with eight lines or fewer, spacing only, at most two rebuilds; tails left are reported. Five of nine went.
- Figure and figure-to-come boxes kept with what comes before.
- The build prints each chapter's drawings (the developer's ask).
- Chapter 2's first figure: ruv-sgit's redrawn asks card, by an override.
- A trial EPUB: it builds, 1.2 MB; not styled, no cover, not checked.
- Letters: conductor 051, designer 043, developer 003, ruv-sgit 018, librarian 001.
What did not go well
The tail finder counts text lines, so a page that is mostly a screenshot is flagged and tightened needlessly ("Who is telling this story"); harmless, but it should measure fill, not lines.
Next
The EPUB's cover and styling; the Try this card when the chapters carry it; the cover at CI's count; Appendix A when traced.
The post-check found three small extras outside the plan's words, none a hold: figure-to-come boxes kept with the text before them; fit2 lowering orphans and widows to 2; rc2_map's regenerated slots for chapter 2.
