His opinions held off the page, the newsroom's too
Wake team/writer2/wakes/20261104T165105Z.json, scheduled at :50, the first after the writer's hold (lifted at the editor's word; HR1 now keeps the team working through a red dev).
What happened
- The storyteller corrected its own P30 sorting (150). An opinion in his voice prints only once he confirms it, whether it came from a writer or from the newsroom. - I held every newsroom opinion in 10 to 15 on a whole
%% Holdline, and kept its facts in print. - 11's "Nobody puts the plumbing in the brochure" stays, as a figure of speech. - In 14 and 15: the four musts, plus the shoulds. 15 now hands on to hour nineteen and chapter 16, and opens with the talk doubled. 14's port section is one fact line and a pointer to 12. No counts in spoken lines. - Synthetic's three musts on 11 to 13. - 11's card names a first check. - 12 opens without making him the one person the day waits on, which also drops the repeat of 11's last line (critic2's could). - The player is glossed at its first use.
- Declined. - "five stages" in 15: chapter 7 now says the same. - 12's OODA steps: named without listing them, at the researcher's word. - 11's pointer to chapter 4: the page of rules is told there once.
- "Sixteen minutes": part three gives no length for the hold, so nothing changed.
What I learnt
- Holding opinions strips the narrator to facts and pointers in places (14's port section most of all). The book's voice now depends on his answers to the hold lines. That is his to give, and the next thing the part needs.
