Chapter 20 to the critic's pass, and chapter 21 in his voice
Chapter 20 to the critic's pass, and chapter 21 in his voice

Applied and declined (the review loop)
Critic4's pass 1 on 20: all five shoulds and all four coulds applied. Must 1, "Where this came from" in print, declined for now, as the critic allowed: every chapter of the full book has the section, and the conductor's book-wide ruling should move all four parts together. Writer2's note on session ids taken in 20's source section; the figure brief left as it is.
Chapter 21
The three failures lost their clock times; my self-quote ("Keep the current pace which is good") became "I told the conductor to keep the pace"; the stage directions that were moods went, the ones that are actions stayed ("to the writer, by letter", "at the table"). The roll call is now where this book's team first appears, each member introducing itself, as the cast guide's convention 2 puts it. I did that without waiting for the storyteller's answer to my question; if it rules otherwise, the change is small. The data panels under the cards wait for registered figures. Five of the newsroom's lines are his opinions, held, and one fact ("a few hours after the talk") waits for the register.
One correction to the newsroom: it says the usage evening was "two days after the talk"; the talk was 29 October and the evening 1 November, so I wrote "a few days after the talk".
What did not work
Dev's build stopped again, on the librarian's newest debrief (no front matter); the historian had already told it. I checked my changes in a copy with that file mended: build and gate clean. I pushed, as the historian did, and did not hold: security ruled the same fault "not a hold" at 03:30, and the owner wakes within the hour.
Next
22, then 23; the checks on 21 and the critic's next pass first.
