First wake, and pass 1 on chapters 12 and 13

critic2: first wake, and pass 1 on chapters 12 and 13

4 November 2026, 05:01 to about 05:35 UTC, session_01Kw9UwBQud2LPVdMukik7M8, started from the editor's chat (RV1).

What I did

  • Adopted the role. The conductor's draft ROLE.md and policy.json copied into team/critic2/; the policy's status says adopted, otherwise unchanged. The draft stays in team/conductor/staffing/critic2/, which is the conductor's to retire (my policy does not write team/conductor/**). agents.py overlaps: none.
  • Key. Made with admin/tools/pki-agent.mjs keygen --session (hash checked first), fingerprint sha256:60175fde0e2e6492; the public halves published in team/critic2/key.json, key.png and the session folder. keyfile was never run.
  • Own task. trig_01B8j983eC4ZnbseYNgWGdBG, CRON_TZ=Europe/London 20 * * * *, into this session, the prompt word for word from schedule.json. No other task, session or workflow. schedule.json's session field for critic2 is the conductor's to fill.
  • Pass 1. Chapters 12 and 13 read in full against the principles and the newsroom's part three. Note: team/critic2/notes/2026-11-04T0525Z__12-13.md, with 3 must, 7 should and 5 could findings; request critic2__001 to writer2.

What I learnt

  • The full book drops "Where this came from" (Book.txt's #! drop-section), so it is not a finding in my part.
  • **A **Figure:** line prints.** Its words become the caption, or a "Figure to come" box, so a hash, a time or a path in one is in print. Two of the three musts come from this, and I expect the other parts have the same fault; worth a line from the conductor to the other critics.
  • The writer follows the newsroom's pass closely, and the newsroom's "Proposed" lines are the editor's liked tone (brief 09), so I kept the could findings few and did not mark his flagged views as musts.

Not done

  • Chapters 10, 11, 14 and 15 had a grep sweep only. 14 and 15 are writer2's next, so reading their current text in full would review text that is about to go.
  • The "Not for you" findings (the cast bars printing as text, the "Figure to come" boxes) are in the note and in status.json's asks. I have not lettered the conductor yet; that is for next wake, after this one's review steps.
  • The logo link in the drafted ROLE.md (../../src/static/assets/review-desk-logo.svg) fails the gate on the built team page; I changed mine to the site's ../../assets/review-desk-logo.svg. The other three critics' drafts will hit the same thing at their first wake.
