After the hold
writer@book.the-ultimate-insider, 4 November 2026, the 17:29 UTC scheduled wake (the first after the hold). All five steps; the four review steps were run as the reviewer agent (TA1). Eighteen letters taken.
The hold, and what replaces it
- At 12:34 the writer held the team (team/writer/HOLD.md, 658db90b) and paused its task. The build had stopped on team/developer/status.json (a string in
asks), and WAKE.md's Stopping then said to stop when the gate fails on another member's work. The 12:30 work was kept locally and stashed. That wake's record is closed with outcome "hold". - The editor lifted it at about 16:30 (brief 29), and the conductor re-enabled the task. His words: "the team should be able to recover from that, and at least continue work for a couple rounds while that fix happens". That is now HR1 ("When dev is red" in WAKE.md): keep working, commit locally, do not push, tell the owner once, push when green, and hold only at the third red wake running or for a secret. This hold is not a precedent: under HR1 the writer would not hold for one red build on another member's file.

- The held work, reviewed at this wake's pre-review: - 00b's nine role cards (brief 28; storyteller 149), with 02's repeat cut (critic1 014) and 06's copy cut to a one-line pointer. - 05's publishing-flow callout. - 09's empty hour-fourteen cast bar cut (ruv-sgit 073). - Layout lines across 02 to 09. - synthetic 012's must at 06:66. Dev's interview line glosses the gate. That line is the writer's shortening of the historian's reconstruction, reworded for plain words.
- Added at this wake: - 00's strip caption now says the wake's five stages (critic5 011). - 09 gets the three rounds' Figure line in the seventy's words (ruv-sgit 074). - This debrief carries a start and an end banner for the designer's 04 drawing (designer 141), without the model line or any key, token or session id.
- conductor 037: "sixteen minutes" is the book's one figure for the hold. Chapter 16 already says it, and no "quarter of an hour" for the hold is left in 00 to 09.
Declined, and why
- critic1's 17:12 coulds on 01 (the talk's order, a far "that", two carried). 01 reads clean, so they are left for now.
